Employee Self Service
Self Service is the lightweight, employee-facing side of TheStorage. Anyone synced from your identity provider can sign in to see the devices assigned to them, confirm them during an audit, and flag anything that looks wrong — without needing administrator access.
As an employee
Sign in at https://thestorage.app/ with your company credentials. You land on your personal page, which shows every device currently assigned to you.

During an open audit where Allow Self Verify is enabled, two extra controls appear on each device:
- Verify — confirms the device is correctly assigned and in working order. A green checkmark appears once verified.
- Report — flags the device with a reason: Ownership, Do not need, Damaged, Lost, or Other. An optional comment travels with the report.
Self-verifications save administrators from chasing every employee individually and show up in the audit log just like administrator verifications.
As an administrator
Administrators have devices too. To view your own personal page rather than the management views:
- Click on your name in the top-right corner of the app.
- Select My Devices.

The page looks and behaves the same as it does for non-admin employees, including the Verify and Report controls during an audit.
