Delete a Category

Remove a category that is no longer needed. The devices that belonged to the category are not deleted — they become uncategorized and can be reassigned to another category.

danger

Deleting a category cannot be undone. All category-specific attributes (such as CPU, RAM, IMEI) are permanently removed from the affected devices.

Steps

  1. Click Categories in the sidebar.

  2. Click on the category you want to delete from the list on the left.

  3. Click the red bin icon in the top-right corner of the category detail pane.

  4. Confirm the action in the Remove category confirmation dialog by clicking Yes. Click No (or the X) to cancel.

The category disappears from the list immediately. The tenant counter in the page header (e.g. 11 pcs) decreases by one, which may re-enable the + Add category button if you were at your plan limit.

An attribute is no longer usefulDelete just the attribute via the red ✕ on the attribute row
Want to temporarily hide a categoryReassign its devices elsewhere and leave the empty category in place

tip

Before deleting, open the category to see the list of devices that belong to it. Reassigning them to another category first keeps your Dashboard's Devices by Category chart accurate.
