Device Management Integrations

Connect third-party Mobile Device Management (MDM) and endpoint management platforms to automatically synchronize managed devices into your TheStorage inventory. Found under Settings → Integrations → Device Management.

Device Management integrations are available with an Enterprise subscription.

Microsoft Intune​

The Microsoft Intune integration is the first available connector. It pulls managed endpoint data (device name, serial number, model, compliance state, primary user) from your Intune tenant and matches it with devices registered in TheStorage.

Enable Intune​

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Device Management.
  2. Toggle Microsoft Intune on.
  3. Complete the authentication flow with an account that has DeviceManagementManagedDevices.Read.All permission in Intune.

Category Mapping​

After enabling the integration, open Categories and enable the Intune Managed Category toggle for every category that should pull data from Intune (e.g. Laptop, Mobile, Tablet). Devices in categories without this flag are excluded from the sync.

View Intune Data on a Device​

  1. Navigate to the Devices page.
  2. Select a device that has a serial number entered.
  3. Click the Intune tab in the information panel.

The panel displays Intune-specific fields including the most recent signed-in user, device compliance, OS version, and last check-in time. If the Intune user does not match the assigned user in TheStorage, a warning is displayed so you can investigate.

Intune matching requires a serial number on the device record. Devices without serial numbers cannot be matched to Intune entries.

Enrolling a Device in Intune​

If you need to enroll a new Windows device in Microsoft Intune before it can sync to TheStorage:

  1. Open the Microsoft Store and install Company Portal.
  2. Launch Company Portal and follow the guided setup, signing in with your corporate credentials.
  3. After enrollment completes, the device appears in the Intune admin portal and will be picked up by the next TheStorage sync.
